REGULATED ENTITIES
INDUSTRY AND ENTITY REGULATION
The Regulatory Affairs Branch of the Commission is responsible for regulating infrastructure and service sectors in Papua New Guinea under Part III of the ICCC Act 2002. The Minister responsible for Treasury has declares the following entities and industries for the purposes of the Commission.
- The Electricity Industry
- The Ports Services Industry
- Postal Services
- Third Party Motor Vehicle Insurance Premiums
- Telecommunications Industry
In particular, the Commission directly regulates the following state owned entities that operate in the industries as outlined.
The regulatory frameworks administered by the Commission in regulating the above state owned entities and the industries in which they operate are contained within a number of pieces of legislation, industry Codes of Practice and regulatory instruments known as “regulatory contracts”.
