PRICES, INDUSTRY REGULATION & SPECIAL PROJECTS

The Prices, Regulatory Affairs and Special Projects Division (“the PRASP Division”) is one of the three core Divisions of the Independent Consumer & Competition Commission (“the Commission”) is responsible for pricing, industry regulation and the conduct of broader industry studies as request by Government.

Prices Regulation

The Prices regulation responsibilities of the Commission are primarily targeted for those goods and services that the Government considers as basic necessities for an average Papua New Guinean household. Click here for more..

The Commission’s responsibilities in the area of declared regulated entities relate to the licensing, regulation of prices and minimum service quality standards of these regulated entities. Click here for more..

Special Projects

A recent but an important addition to the overall responsibilities of the PRASP Division has been the creation of a Special Projects Branch. This branch since its establishment in 2006 was responsible for conducting specific inquiries and report as directed by Minister responsible for Treasury matters and Parliament.
