Mobile Carriers (Bemobile and Digicel)
The mobile telecommunications network services are subject to competition due to the introduction of competition by the Commission being the Competition agency. The Commission has issued three (3) mobile licences but one has gone into liquidation. Now the country enjoys competitive mobile services from Bmobile Ltd (Bemobile) and Digicel (PNG) Ltd (Digicel). Since mobile sector is subject to competition, the Commission ensures that mobile carriers are providing and rolling out their infrastructure in accordance with the Commission issued licences, codes of Practice and other rules.
